Differences between CAN- & NOVA-Bus

The NOVA-Bus is deliberately restricted to a subset of the features the CAN-Bus offers.

The NOVA-Bus uses a predefined identifier scheme, in which the ID is divided into various parts. The device ID is a number that defines the type of device, the Device EEPROM ID make it possible to use more than one device of the same type. The Device EEPROM ID is programable by the user. The Command ID is a number which represents a function of the device together with the 8 byte data block.
